Neighborhoods in South Shreveport

There are many neighborhoods in the South Shreveport area that are far enough away from the middle of the city for the quiet feel of the suburbs, yet convenient enough to take a short drive to the nearest dinning, shopping and entertainment attractions.  Some of these neighborhoods include Ellerbe Road Estates, Twelve Oaks, Hidden Trace, and Long Lake Estates to name a few.

Ellerbe Road Estates is located south of Shreveport and east of I-49.  Most of these beautiful, well-built homes in this neighborhood were constructed between the late 1970’s and 1980’s.  This private, quiet, clean community is just in reach of Bert Kouns Industrial Loop.

Twelve Oaks is a community located on 400 acres in Southeast Shreveport near Inner Loop 3132 with convenient access to I-49.  Twelve Oaks has an extensive list of custom home builders with several years of experience, as well as a Homeowners Association with a permanent office located within the gatehouse.  This neighborhood also offers a multi-use clubhouse within the community open for residents’ use.  During the long, Louisiana summer months, the pool and snack bar is open for residents and their families.

Hidden Trace is a gated community located in South Ellerbe just a few miles south of Overton Brooks on Norris Ferry Road.  This neighborhood offers a large array of updated, contemporary homes, yet comfortable in size for the average family.  Located a little over 10 miles from the middle of Shreveport, Youree Drive is still just a short distance away.  This neighborhood will definitely suit your needs if you desire to be further from the city, yet close enough for convenience purposes.

Long Lake Estates is an upscale, gated community located near Ellerbe Road and Overton Brooks.  Offering 24-hour security, this neighborhood will definitely offer your family a safe and secure environment.  This neighborhood offers luxury homes with spacious floor plans.  With the peaceful feel of lakes and bayous within the gates, this neighborhood is one of the most beautiful in the Shreveport area.

The Caddo parish schools that are within all of these neighborhoods’ school districts are University Elementary School, Youree Drive Middle School, and Captain Shreve High School.  There are also several other magnet and private school options within convenient driving distance as well.

The Broadmoor Neighborhood, Shreveport, La.

The Broadmoor Neighborhood, also known as the “Broadmoor area,” is a lovely, quiet neighborhood that can be found near the middle of Shreveport, Louisiana, or in “the heart of Shreveport.”  This beautiful neighborhood has the peaceful comfort of an “at home” feeling, but is coincidentally right in the middle of the city.  Nearly any restaurant or dining experience one is looking for can be found close by, as well as any type of shopping.  Another local attraction is the Duck Pond, a beautiful neighborhood park located on East Kings Highway where families can go to spend the day playing, picnicking, and to feed ducks and geese.

An exciting seasonal event that takes place right in the middle of the Broadmoor neighborhood two weekends during the month of February are two Mardi Gras parades.  Several elaborately decorated floats parade down East Kings Highway, throwing beads, cups, and any other carnival type goodies to families who come from all over the Ark-La-Tex to participate.  This is an exciting time for people of all ages and a great opportunity for families to spend the day together grilling and having fun.

Most of the homes in the Broadmoor neighborhood were built in the 40’s, 50,’s and 60’s.  The Broadmoor neighborhood is also physically the largest neighborhood in Shreveport.  This neighborhood offers amazing schools such as Broadmoor Middle Laboratory School, Youree Drive Middle School, Arthur Circle Elementary School, A.C. Steere Elementary School, Captain Shreve High School, and St. Joseph’s School, which offers a private education.  This neighborhood also offers a variety of great places of worship such as Broadmoor United Methodist Church, Broadmoor Presbyterian, and Broadmoor Baptist Church.

If you are looking for a single family home that is quiet with the convenience of the city, the Broadmoor neighborhood is the place for you!  Beecher and Beecher Real Estate Team currently has two amazing listings that are priced to sell.  Please call the Beecher and Beecher Real Estate Team today at 318.459.8397 or email team@beecherandbeecher.com if you are in the market for a new home.  Let Beecher and Beecher find a house for you to call “home.”
